These learnerships are made available in all the Provinces throughout South Africa. Candidates wishing to apply must do so within their own Province. These SASSETA Learnerships are usually for a period of 12 months to 24 months, and they do include a monthly stipend.

There are numerous opportunities for energetic, young and gifted personalities each year. This learnership program offers a variety of different fields to look at when deciding upon a career path. These learnerships usually also include a study training period, along with field training. Candidates will be given classes, along with field experience while learning from specialists within each field. These learnerships are rare in South Africa, but if this is your desire, you may find a learnership that is ideal for you.

SASSETA Learnerships Available
SASSETA has a couple of different fields available for successful candidates, they include the following fields, but is not limited to these only.

This learnership program runs in line with the government’s National Skills Development Strategy and offers candidates from all communities and backgrounds, the opportunity to become part of a skilled workforce. They aim to alleviate poverty and unemployment throughout South Africa. This program includes a monthly stipend for the period of the learnership, which is usually a 12-month period.
SASSETA Learnerships Requirements
Candidates must include a detailed curriculum vitae and must be between the ages of 21 and 35. Candidates should also provide contactable references, along with any information they feel may be applicable to their application. Include certified copies of all relevant certificates, ID Documents and proof of address no older than three months.
Candidates will also be required to adhere to the following:
- Applicants must be a South African citizen
- Candidates must hold a valid South African ID document
- All candidates must have completed a Grade 12 certificate
- Candidates must hold a degree within their field of application
- You must be proficient in English and one other language
- Candidates must be proficient in Mathematics
- All candidates must not hold any criminal record
- Candidates must have exceptional communication skills Verbal & Written
- Applicants must be of strong character
- Candidates must have a fundamental knowledge of the field they are applying for
Candidates who apply be checked for the following:
- Any and all credit records
- Criminal record
- Any references with previous employers
- Any falsification of documentation
Falsification of any kind will not be taken lightly. Only candidates who make the shortlist will be contacted. These candidates may be asked to undergo medical, psychometric or other tests as is required by the company. Candidates have not assured a permanent position after the completion of their learnership, however, some of these institutes may offer permanent positions if they have an opening.
Approximately 30% of each learnership will consist of theoretical training, and 70% will be practical training at the workplace. Learnership may include self-defence, firearm and physical training.
SASSETA Learnerships Application
Learnerships online applications processes are made available during the year, depending on the company’s needs for more information look HERE on their website. The application must be accompanied by all relevant documentation. Qualifications and details will be verified. Successful candidates will be contacted and an interview arranged.
Candidates must ensure that they complete the application form fully and sign it before sending it in. Any forms that are missing information, a signature, date or documentation, will be disqualified. Any late entries will not be looked at. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, thus, if you have not heard from the company within three months of the closing date, you can assume your application was unsuccessful.
Candidates can also find more information with their Departments of Labor, or University Campus Career Centers. Faxed, e-mailed or photo-copied applications will not be acceptable.
